Potensi Dan Tantangan Heritage Tourism di Kota Mataram.pdf

Heritage tourism is a tourism sector based on historical and cultural values that has great potential to be developed, including in Mataram City. As the capital city of West Nusa Tenggara Province, Mataram City has a diverse cultural heritage, such as Pura Meru, Taman Mayura, Makam Loang Baloq, and the Old City area of Ampenan. This study aims to identify the potential and challenges in developing heritage tourism in this city. The research method used is qualitative with a literature study approach. The results of the study show that Mataram City has a unique cultural attraction and can provide a positive impact, both economically and in terms of cultural preservation. However, challenges such as lack of promotion, limited infrastructure, and minimal involvement of local communities hinder the development of this sector. The proposed recommendations include improving site management, community participation, and integrated marketing strategies. With a sustainable approach, heritage tourism can be an important pillar in tourism development in Mataram City.
