Innovative CI/CD Pipeline Optimization through Canaryand Blue-Green Deployment
In modern software development, managing the risks associatedwith new code releases is critical to maintain system stability andperformance. Canary and Blue-Green deployments are twoeffective strategies used to achieve this balance. Canary deploy-ments allow for incremental rollouts of new features to a smallsubset of users, providing real-time performance monitoring andrisk mitigation before a full-scale release to the production envi-ronment while Blue-Green deployments involve maintainingtwo separate environments, blue and green and switching betweenthem to ensure that new changes do not disrupt the production en-vironment. This paper explores the methodologies behind Canaryand Blue-Green deployments, their integration with Jenkins CI/CDpipelines, and the benefits, experimental set up, challenges, andfuture advancements of these strategies. By leveraging Jenkins tomanage these deployment approaches, organizations can enhancetheir deployment processes, reduce the risk of disruptions, and im-prove overall system stability.
