How School Stress Affects Student Physical Health.pdf
This research investigates the impact of academic stress on the physical health of high school students aged 14 to 18. The study adopts a quantitative, cross-sectional design and utilizes a structured, self-administered online questionnaire to collect data from a sample of 300 students. The survey explores various dimensions of academic stress, including its frequency, sources, associated physical symptoms, sleep patterns, and coping strategies. The data was collected through Google Forms and analyzed using descriptive statistical methods (frequencies, percentages, bar and pie charts) in Microsoft Excel. The results revealed a strong correlation between stress levels and physical health complaints—such as headaches, fatigue, sleep disturbances, and gastrointestinal issues—especially among students who reported sleeping fewer than six hours per night. The study contributes to the existing literature by providing updated insights from high school students in different academic environments. It also proposes practical recommendations for schools and educators to help reduce the physical toll of academic stress on students through structured support systems, time management programs, and mental health education. This paper is suitable for platforms focused on adolescent health, educational psychology, behavioral science, and school-based interventions.
