<b>INVESTIGATING THE TESTICULO</b><b>TOXIC EFFECT</b><b> </b><b>OF FRAGRANCE-BASED BODY</b><b> </b><b>SPRAY ON ADULT WISTAR RATS</b>

The frequent use of fragrance-based cosmetic products is alarming amid the populace in Nigeria. A sturdy debate over whether male reproductive ability is influenced by fragrance-based cosmetics and environmental factors has long persisted. Hence, this study examined the testiculotoxic effect of fragrance-based body spray on adult male Wistar rats.The overall results obtained in this study suggest that fragrance material are toxic to spermatozoa of rat with the effect of dosage dependent. Despite the well established documentation on the effects of fragrance materials on human health, there is a need for further investigation in human to determine the safety margin as far as fertility is concerned.
