Trends and Issues in the Application of Park-PFI in 45 Parks in JapanAnalysis of development, maintenance and operations based on regional and park characteristics

This study investigated trends and issues in the development,maintenance and operation of urban parks utilizing Park-PFI. By classifying parks based on region and park characteristics, three trends were identified: reducing the burden on local governments,revitalizing local economies,and promoting local activities. In addition, two issues were identified: the need to consider the use of parks by community groups, and the establishment of revenue-generating facilities in specific park facilities.
