In CommUNITY Community Needs Assessment Report

Project goal: To improve the Healthcare Access and Quality and Social and Community Context social determinants of health (SDOH) through place-based structural interventions and the creation of a shared data system with the intent to produce positive health outcomes across the lifespan among Miami-Dade County’s (MDC) sexual and gender minority (SGM) population. Aims: Use a community-engaged and informed research approach to assess the availability of resources, data, and policies that promote health among SGM; barriers experienced by SGM in health/healthcare; and gaps in data collected in MDC. The collection of SGM-specific longitudinal data using mixed methods through the implementation of the structural interventions. Development of a sustainable shared data system, including a data dashboard, that includes SGM demographic data across indicators.
