Morphophysiological mechanisms of tolerance of Borreria densiflora DC. to glyphosate
This study hypothesized that changes in anatomical traits and cuticular waxes throughout the phenological stages of Borreria densiflora DC. play a role in glyphosate tolerance. An experiment was conducted in 4x2x3 + 1 factorial scheme. The first factor was four phenological stages of B. densiflora; the second was two glyphosate doses ; the third was leaf collection time after herbicide application, plus an untreated control. Results showed that glyphosate efficacy decreased with plant maturity, with higher susceptibility in early stages. Metabolic adaptations during flowering suggested tolerance to the herbicide. Changes in wax composition correlated with reduced absorption, highlighting their role in herbicide response.
