The Creation of Time:A Symmetry-Based Origin of Causality andthe Universe
We propose that time is not a passive background parameter but a dynamical fieldarising from a fundamental gauge symmetry. In this view, the universe prior to timeexisted in a state of total compression and causal inactivity—pure potential energywithout entropy, motion, or separation. The emergence of a time gradient represents asymmetry-breaking event, initiating irreversible evolution, entropy flow, and spacetimeexpansion. We formalize this transition through the principle of Irreversible TemporalGauge Symmetry (ITGS), combining time-reparametrization invariance and entropy-gradient covariance. Under this framework, the Big Bang is reinterpreted not as anexplosion of matter, but as the moment time itself came into being.
