On the spatial distance between training and validation data in model evaluation: data, codes, and reproduction workflow

The files "GenerateSimData.pdf", "SimulationAnalysis.pdf", and "CaseStudy.pdf" are compiled R Markdown documents that demonstrate and reproduce the workflows for generating simulated data, conducting simulation analysis, and performing a case study, respectively. Each PDF includes the R code and its direct output (e.g., figures and results). To reproduce these workflows in your environment, the "workflow_reproduction" ZIP file contains all necessary R Markdown files, code with comments, and accompanying datasets. Specifically:"GenerateSimData.Rmd" reproduces the workflow for generating simulated data."SimulationAnalysis.Rmd" reproduces the simulation analysis workflow."casestudy.Rmd" reproduces the case study analysis. To run a specific part of the workflow, please open the corresponding ".Rmd" file in RStudio and click the green "Run Current Chunk" arrow icon to execute each code chunk interactively.<br>If you would like to reproduce the workflow in the original environment, we also provide the following resources:The "Data_file" zip file contains the response variables, explanatory variables, and simulated data. The code folder contains:"spatial random sim.R": The code for generating the simulated data."sim case.R": The code for simulation analysis."compute_sliding_window_metrics.R": The code for the moving distance validation model."fun_spatially_weighted_validation.R": The code for calculating the spatially weighted indicators."Modelling.R": The code for the case study.
