Risk-Weighted Average Temperature Analysis for Istanbul
This article presents a novel application of the weighted average (ς-structure) to calculate the risk-weighted average temperature for Istanbul using official meteorological and landslide risk data. The methodology combines long-term temperature statistics from the Turkish State Meteorological Service (MGM) with landslide risk scores derived from national hazard maps. The results are compared to classic arithmetic averages, demonstrating the significance of risk-based weighting in climate and disaster analysis. The author acknowledges the use of OpenAI’s language model for assistance in drafting certain sections of this workl
