Punching shear in reinforced concrete according to the new standard EN 1992-1-1:2023 in the light of the withdrawn standard PN-EN 1992-1-1:2008

The paper presents changes concerning the issue of punching shear of reinforced concrete slabs in the light of the provisions of newly introduced standard EN 1992-1-1:2023 Eurocode 2. These provisions were compared with the previous standard EN 1992-1-1:2004 in the field of punching shear of slabs without transverse reinforcement. Significant differences between both standards were demonstrated that affect the results of load-bearing capacity calculations. In most cases, lower design load-bearing capacities should be expected according to the new standard. The exception in this regard are the load capacities of corner columns
