Climate Justice and Human Rights: A Strategic Report
This strategic report explores the intersection of climate justice and human rights within the broader context of global environmental governance. It provides a critical analysis of the structural inequalities, geopolitical dynamics, and legal frameworks that shape climate-related decisions, especially in vulnerable regions. Using a PESTLE model to examine political, economic, social, technological, legal, and environmental factors, the report highlights urgent gaps in climate finance, accountability, and rights-based approaches. It also presents a policy matrix with long-term goals and practical recommendations targeting governments, civil society, and international institutions. Prepared by Abozer Elmana Mohamed Elligai, Founder and President of the World Peace Center and former Chair of the African Union’s ECOSOCC, the report draws on both grassroots insights and diplomatic experience. It is intended as a reference for policy design, advocacy, and international cooperation in pursuit of equitable and sustainable climate action. Keywords: climate justice, human rights, global south, climate policy, sustainability, equity, peacebuilding.
