SEMANTIC SEGMENTATION FOR AUTONOMOUS VEHICLES

The challenge at hand is to develop accurate, real-time semantic segmentation algorithms crucial for autonomous vehicles. Thesealgorithms enable the identification and classification of objects and their boundaries within the vehicle's environment, facilitatingapplications like obstacle detection, lane tracking, traffic sign recognition, and dynamic path planning, ultimately fostering safe andintelligent autonomous driving. Traditional image segmentation methods, which rely on manual annotation and pixel-wise classification, suffer from inefficiency and inaccuracies. To overcome these limitations, advanced solutions, such as the U-Net architecture, have beenintroduced. These algorithms rely on extensive datasets of labeled images to enhance the safety and intelligence of autonomous driving, ensuring precision and real-time capabilities.
