Tanzania Private Sector Seascape Analysis
Developed under the USAID/Tanzania Heshimu Bahari (“Respect the Ocean”) project, the Private Sector Seascape Analysis (PSSA) identifies opportunities to engage the private sector in advancing marine conservation, sustainable fisheries, and blue economy development in Tanzania. The report maps priority sectors—including fisheries, seaweed, aquaculture, and tourism—highlighting key actors, market dynamics, and value chain linkages. It assesses drivers of environmental impact, investment trends, and barriers to private sector engagement, while also identifying high-potential partnerships and entry points for conservation-focused collaboration. The PSSA is intended to inform strategies for building resilient coastal economies, fostering public-private partnerships, and mobilizing investment in marine resource management across mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar.
