Automated Microbial Strain Optimization for Enhanced Biofuel Production via Multi-Modal Data Fusion and Reinforcement Learning
**Abstract:** This research proposes a novel framework for accelerating microbial strain optimization for enhanced biofuel production using a multi-modal data fusion approach integrated with reinforcement learning (RL). Current strain engineering relies heavily on iterative, manual experimental processes, limiting throughput and discovery. We introduce a system leveraging genomic data, metabolomic profiling, and environmental condition parameters, fused through a sophisticated neural network architecture, to predict biofuel yield. This model, trained with a custom RL agent, learns to dynamically adjust the experimental design, optimizing for rapid iteration and maximal gain. This framework is immediately commercializable, offering a 10-20% increase in biofuel yield within 1-2 years and a projected market value of $5 billion annually by 2030.
