The study introduces Climate Health Debt (CHD). This novel economic metric quantifies the intergenerational burden of climate-exacerbated illnesses in low-income labor markets, thereby addressing a critical gap in climate-health economics. To operationalize this concept, the study constructs the Climate Health Debt Index (CHDI) using longitudinal data from 50 Indian districts (2015–2025).
