Critical Study of the Indian Constitution, Its Core Values, and the Influence of Literature
The Indian Constitution is a visionary document that lays the foundation of a sovereign, socialist, secular, and democratic republic. It enshrines core values like justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity which guide the nation’s governance and social structure. These values are not confined to the legal framework alone but have found vibrant expression in Indian literature. Writers like B.R. Ambedkar, Premchand, Mahadevi Verma, and Mulk Raj Anand, among others, have played a pivotal role in articulating constitutional ethics through literature. This paper critically analyzes the interrelationship between the Constitution, its values, and the role of literature in reflecting and shaping these ideals.
