251. Ficus tovarensis Pittier. Bol. Soc. Venez. Ci. Nat. 4(30): 57. 1937. TYPE:— VENEZUELA. Aragua: Colonia Tovar, 2000–2100 m, 26 December 1921, H. Pittier 10019 (lectotype, designated here: VEN–443 [digital image!]; isolectotypes: G–00438322 [digital image!], US–00090265!). Nomenclatural notes:— Pittier (1937) described this taxon based on Pittier 10019, but did not specify a herbarium, thus making all specimens of that gathering syntypes (Art. 40.2 Note 1). We designate VEN443 as the lectotype because it represents the most complete and diagnostic specimen.
