Management of Materials and Human Resources in Education in Nigeria
A key factor in the development of education in Nigeria is the efficient use of human and material resources. Nigerian schools still face inefficiencies in human resource management and lack of necessary teaching and learning resources despite numerous governmental initiatives. This study looks at how public schools in Nigeria handle their human resources and instructional materials. It looks at hiring, educating, and motivating educational staff as well as the availability, use, and upkeep of educational resources. Data were gathered from educators, school officials, and education officers in a few states using a descriptive survey approach. The results show problems with staff motivation and professional growth, ineffective inventory methods, and large gaps in resource allocation. The study ends with suggestions for better resource allocation, frequent training, open hiring, and strategic planning to raise the standard of education in Nigeria.
