THE IMPACT OF UN SANCTIONS ON HUMAN RIGHTS AND MITIGATION MECHANISMS: AN ANALYSIS FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF INTERNATIONAL LAW
Sanctions adopted by the United Nations Security Council under Chapter VII of the UN Charter, with the aim of maintaining or restoring international peace and security, encompass a wide range of non-military enforcement measures [1]. These measures are intended to compel states or non-state actors to alter behaviors that threaten international peace and security.
