A CONCEPTUAL REVIEW ON ANULOMA AND PRATILOMA KSHAYA IN RAJAYAKSHMA
Rajayakshma, often referred to as the "king of diseases," is a complex condition characterized by the vitiation of tridosha and sapta dhatu. This disease, comparable to pulmonary tuberculosis, presents significant challenges in diagnosis and treatment due to its syndromic expression and multisystem involvement. Ayurvedic practitioners recognize the necessity of a comprehensive approach to identify and treat Rajayakshma based on individual presentations. This article delves into the concepts of Anuloma Kshaya and Pratiloma Kshaya, two distinct patterns of tissue depletion observed in Rajayakshma. Anuloma Kshaya signifies tissue depletion occurring in the natural order of nourishment, while Pratiloma Kshaya signifies depletion in the reverse order. The study aims to analyze and evaluate these concepts through a literature survey, emphasizing the importance of understanding Nidana and Samprapti before planning treatment. By exploring the factors contributing to Rajayakshma, such as excessive exertion, suppression of natural urges, and improper diet, this article provides insights into the clinical significance of these patterns and their implications for Ayurvedic treatment strategies.
