LABORATORY METHODS FOR DETERMINING MECHANICAL ASPHYXIA
Mechanical asphyxia is a condition that occurs when an external mechanical factor disrupts the gas exchange process in the body. This in turn leads to circulatory disorders, which is also characteristic of sudden death. Signs revealed during forensic examination are known as general signs of asphyxia, including: external signs (cyanosis of the face, the rapid formation of abundant with a dark purple color of cadaveric spots, small-point hemorrhages in the conjunctiva of the upper and lower eyelids, mucous membrane of the mouth and pharynx), internal (liquid state and dark red color of the blood, expansion and blood overflow of the right heart; venous fullblood of internal organs; acute alveolar pulmonary emphysema; Tardier spots - small-point hemorrhages of dark red color under the pulmonary pleura, epicardium, under the serous membranes of other organs). Also, the presence of general changes is also observed in the investigation of internal organs, which is manifested by a violation of organ circulation, phenomena of increased permeability of the vascular wall, acute dystrophic changes. The presence of asphyxia at death from mechanical asphyxia cannot be established based on these general pathological manifestations, and therefore, it is necessary to search for characteristic signs and diagnostic markers that prove the presence of an asphyxiation process. The development of asphyxia can lead to changes in the body's biochemical parameters, which can lead to the search for biomarkers of organ cell damage that are most sensitive to oxygen starvation.
