Bamboo Fibre Used in Concrete-A Research
Because of the growing demand for natural resources in developing countries, it is necessary to find and employ locally sustainable materials while building and providing dwellings. "Green" refers to natural building materials that are thought to be sustainable; the annual trade of thousands of tons of bamboo generates a lot of garbage. The Bamboo was used in structural element like supports, columns, roofs etc. and in the construction of the building. For the construction work concrete is used as the basic materials. The concrete is strong in compression but fragile in the tensile strength. It has become involved in making concrete using natural materials. Bamboo fibre with high tensile strength is expected to contribute significantly to quick growth, large growth distribution and low-cost earthquake-resistant construction and seismic retrofit skill. The Compressive and Splitting Tensile Test after 7,14, and 28 curing day we tested the specimen compressive strength, split tensile strength and Flexural strength by adding in volume of concrete at 0%, 0.5%,0.75% and 1.0% with concrete and finally the results were compared with conventional concrete and Bamboo Fibers concrete. The slump value decreased from 110mm for normal concrete to the 55 mm for 1.25%fibercontent the slump value. Water cement ratio will be 0.45. Consequently, addition of bamboo Fiber content increase the flexural strength. Research indicates that bamboo fibers can significantly improve various mechanical properties of concrete. For example, one study found that 2.0 vol% bamboo fibers in UHPC increased flexural strength by 37.9% and toughness by 739.5%. Another study showed that bamboo fibers increased the tensile strain of concrete, reducing the risk of brittle failure and improving ductility.
