ORGANIZING INDEPENDENT STUDY THROUGH TASK-BASED LEARNING IN HIGH SCHOOL FOREIGN LANGUAGE CLASSROOMS IN UZBEKISTAN
This article explores the integration of Task-Based Learning (TBL) and independent study as innovative approaches to foreign language education in high schools across Uzbekistan. While traditional teacher-centered methods dominate classrooms, TBL emphasizes engaging students in meaningful, real-world tasks that foster critical thinking and communicative competence. Independent study complements TBL by encouraging student autonomy, self-regulation, and effective time management. The article addresses the challenges of implementing these methods, including resource limitations, teacher training needs, cultural barriers, and student readiness. Practical solutions, such as investing in teacher development, enhancing educational resources, and leveraging digital tools, are discussed. This study argues for adopting these methods to enhance student outcomes and prepare them for global communication.
