EXPLORING THE DOMINANCE OF ENGLISH IN AI-DRIVEN NEWS PRODUCTION, CROSS-BORDER MEDIA FLOWS, AND AUTOMATED CONTENT CURATION IN THE DIGITAL AGE

In the age of artificial intelligence (AI), English has consolidated its role as the dominant linguistic medium in global news ecosystems. From automated content generation and curation to transnational media distribution, English increasingly serves as the default interface for AI models trained on massive textual datasets. This paper investigates how English-language hegemony shapes the architecture of AI-driven journalism, influences the flow of cross-border news, and determines content visibility across digital platforms. By synthesizing literature and empirical evidence from studies conducted. this work underscores the implications of language bias in AI systems for global media diversity, cultural representation, and epistemic equity. It also highlights the embedded inequalities in training data and the algorithmic prioritization of English-language content in multilingual digital environments.
