INTEND: Intent-based Data Operation in the Computing Continuum

The INTEND project is redefi ning data management across the Cloud-Edge-IoT continuum by embedding advanced AI capabilities into decentralized computing environments to enable intent-based operations. As data becomes increasingly distributed and complex to manage, INTEND harnesses recent advancements in human-like AI to create intelligent, adaptive, and secure systems. By supporting natural language interaction and continuous learning, the project allows users to intuitively govern data workfl ows and resource allocation across heterogeneous platforms.INTEND delivers a toolbox of novel soft ware solutions, tested in the following key application domains: video streaming, industrial data platforms, 5G infrastructure, urban data spaces and robotics. One of the tolls developed in INTEND is the inChat tool which serves as a conversational interface that bridges the gap between human intent and system capabilities. inChat dynamically refi nes and translates user input into actionable adaptations within the computing continuum. At ESWC2025, INTEND aims to connect with other projects working on AI, semantic technologies, and intelligent infrastructure. We want to exchange ideas, share experiences, and explore ways to work together to build secure, scalable, and user-friendly data systems.
