The Power of Connections: Building Strong Teacher-Student Relationships
This study explored the experiences of Teacher-Student Relationships building strong power connections. Specifically, it aimed to answer their perceptions about it simultaneously as the coping mechanisms for the emerging challenges. To achieve the objectives of the study, I made use of phenomenology. The 5 participants for the in-depth interview and the 5 participants for the focus group discussion of this study were female or male teachers of the Davao City Division. I used a semi-structured online interview using the coding technique to analyze the data. The study disclosed different themes, such as in the first Objective, experiences of teacher and student behaviors, that contribute most directly to developing and maintaining positive and supportive teacher-student relationships. The results were Effective communication and active listening, Lack of empathy and emotional support, and mutual respect and positive reinforcement. The second objective is to provide Coping strategies for school paper advisers to handle the challenges they perceive as effective in handling students. In summary, these emergent themes provide insights that emphasize the significance of holistic approaches to the school. Educational institutions and stakeholders may support more resilience at all times. It was essential to identify and address these coping mechanisms to foster an atmosphere in which the teacher-student relationship can flourish on the job while preserving the integrity of everyone. Despite these obstacles, teachers remain deeply committed to nurturing learners by going above and beyond their regular duties.
