STUDENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Abstract: Managing academic operations in today’s educational institutions can be a complex and time- consuming task—especially when many schools and colleges still rely on outdated, manual systems for handling student records, attendance, results, and communication. These traditional methods often lead to lost data, delays, inefficiencies, and a lack of transparency for everyone involved. To solve these issues, we developed a Student Management System (SMS)—a web-based application designed to bring everything into one digital platform. Built using the Django framework, this system helps administrators, staff, and students manage academic tasks more efficiently and securely. Each type of user has access to features relevant to their role: · Admins can manage courses, subjects, staff, students, sessions, and view reports or feedback. · Staff members can take attendance, upload results, and communicate with the admin. · Students can view their attendance and results, apply for leave, and share feedback. The system uses Django’s Model-View-Template (MVT) architecture, making it clean, scalable, and easy to maintain. It stores data securely using a database like SQLite or MySQL, and provides a responsive interface using HTML and CSS. Role-based login ensures that only authorized users can access specific data, keeping student information safe and private. In short, this Student Management System reduces paperwork, cuts down on errors, and makes academic data easier to access and manage. It encourages better communication between students, staff, and administrators, and helps institutions run more smoothly by shifting from manual processes to a fully digital experience.
