Investigation on self-degradation of polyaniline in solar light radiations
AbstractIn the present research work, synthesis, characterization, and investigation study on the self-degradation of polyanilineunder solar light radiation is reported. Deep examination of PANI degradation in presence of solar light was inspectedfor a time duration of 12, and 24 hrs respectively. The degradation of PANI in presence of solar light was conductedwithout any stabilizers or surfactant/hydrating agent. The functional studies, and microstructural properties of thedegraded PANI were determined using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, Electron spin resonance, Differentialscanning calorimetry, and Scanning electron microscope. From the results, it is a clear vision of self-degradation ofPANI in solar light can be observed from FTIR, DSC and ESR analysis. The evolution of water, loss of dopants andeventually breakdown of polymer backbone are the steps in the degradation of PANI shown by DSC and FTIR results
