Perlesta nelsoni Stark 1989
Perlesta nelsoni Stark, 1989 Notes Perlesta nelsoni is commonly known as the Pale Stone (Stark et al. 2012). This is mainly an Appalachian-distributed species reported from New York south to Tennessee and South Carolina (Stark 2004, DeWalt et al. 2024). In New York, adults of this species have been collected between late June through mid-September (Fig. 33) from elevations ranging from 32-514 m asl (Fig. 34). This species appears to be relatively common in larger streams and small rivers in Level III Ecoregions Northeastern Highlands (58), Northeastern Coastal Lowlands (59), Northern Allegheny Plateau (60), and Eastern Great Lakes Lowlands (83) (Fig. 37 d).
