Conditional matter antimatter annihilation A structural mechanism for dark matter and cosmological puzzles

We propose that matter–antimatter annihilation is not inevitable but requires precise quantum structural alignment. A structural parameter theta—aggregating spin orientation, quantum phase, orbital momentum, and wavefunction overlap—governs annihilation probability through a universal suppression function f(theta) = cos²(theta/2), derived from first-principles spinor overlap calculations. Misaligned pairs survive as metastable "z-states"—electromagnetically neutral intermediates with cosmological lifetimes. During primordial freeze-out, quantum decoherence produced ~10⁻⁹ survival fraction, naturally yielding today's dark matter density Omega_DM h² = 0.120 for m_z = 40 MeV, without invoking unknown particles. We predict three immediate experimental signatures: 15% phase modulation in positronium formation, 36 ± 6 soft missing transverse energy events at LHC, and CMB temperature fluctuations delta T / T ~ 3 × 10⁻¹⁵ detectable by next-generation experiments. The model preserves all conservation laws, recovers standard QED when theta → 0, and explains positronium lifetime variations across six orders of magnitude with chi² / dof = 1.12.

Abstract

We propose that matter–antimatter annihilation is not inevitable but requires precise quantum structural alignment. A structural parameter theta—aggregating spin orientation, quantum phase, orbital momentum, and wavefunction overlap—governs annihilation probability through a universal suppression function f(theta) = cos²(theta/2), derived from first-principles spinor overlap calculations. Misaligned pairs survive as metastable "z-states"—electromagnetically neutral intermediates with cosmological lifetimes. During primordial freeze-out, quantum decoherence produced ~10⁻⁹ survival fraction, naturally yielding today's dark matter density Omega_DM h² = 0.120 for m_z = 40 MeV, without invoking unknown particles. We predict three immediate experimental signatures: 15% phase modulation in positronium formation, 36 ± 6 soft missing transverse energy events at LHC, and CMB temperature fluctuations delta T / T ~ 3 × 10⁻¹⁵ detectable by next-generation experiments. The model preserves all conservation laws, recovers standard QED when theta → 0, and explains positronium lifetime variations across six orders of magnitude with chi² / dof = 1.12.
