Public Health and Well Being: Mental Health Awareness, Global Strategies, Emerging Technologies and health Innovation in the Post pandemic Era
Abstract The COVID-19 pandemic has served as both a crisis and a catalyst for transformation in global public health, particularly in mental health awareness and healthcare innovation. This synthesis examines the current landscape of post-pandemic health strategies, focusing on four critical areas: mental health awareness, artificial intelligence (AI) applications, telemedicine advancements, and genomic medicine breakthroughs. The pandemic exacerbated existing mental health challenges, with global anxiety and depression rates increasing by 25% in its first year alone. This mental health crisis has highlighted the urgent need for innovative solutions, including technology-enabled interventions and global solidarity approaches. Emerging technologies such as AI, telemedicine, and genomics are playing pivotal roles in reshaping healthcare delivery, while global strategies emphasize reciprocal learning between high income and low income countries to address systemic inequalities. Key innovations include AI-powered predictive healthcare systems, immersive telemedicine platforms leveraging extended reality, and precision medicine approaches enabled by CRISPR gene-editing technologies. However, these advancements face challenges including digital divides, data privacy concerns, and the need for standardized global practices. The World health Organization's comprehensive mental health report underscores the importance of transforming mental healthcare systems, particularly through community-based networks and task-sharing approaches that can deliver a 5:1 benefit-cost ratio for treating common conditions like depression and anxiety. This overview demonstrates how the convergence of heightened mental health awareness, technological innovation, and global collaboration strategies are creating new paradigms for public health and well being in the post pandemic era. the integration of these element offer promising pathways to address both the immediate consequences of the pandemic and long standing systems challenges in healthcare delivery worldwide.
