MATHEMATICAL MODELING OF MALARIA TRANSMISSION IN HIGH AND LOW RAINFALL REGIONS
Malaria remains a significant public health challenge, particularly in regions with varying climatic conditions. In this study, compartmental malaria model were developed and analyzed for high and low rainfall regions to compare their respective basic reproduction numbers R0. The system of differential equations actually helped us to describe the transmission dynamics of malaria among human and mosquito populations. The next-generation matrix method was applied to derive R0, and numerical simulations were performed using parameter values obtained from recent literature. The results show that R0 is higher in a region with high rainfall. This highlights the need for region-specific malaria control strategies.
