Barriers in the Implementation of the Blended Learning Modality in Rural Areas

Abstract: This study utilized descriptive method of research in barriers in the implementation of Blended Learning Modality in Rural Areas in areas of self-learning modules, facilities and equipment and assessment of learning in the schools of the identified district in a large size division in central Philippines for the school year 2020-2021. Results showed that the extent of the barriers encountered by teachers in the implementation of blended learning modality in all areas were moderate. The comparative analysis among these areas between age and number of trainings attended showed the same moderate extent of implementation barriers. The comparative analysis between the extent of the barriers in implementing blended learning based on age and number of trainings attended were not significant. Data is suggesting that teachers and school personnel should seek help from municipal LGU and other community stakeholders to help them do away with the barriers. Keywords: Blended Learning, Implementation Barriers, Rural Education, Self-Learning Modules, Teacher Training
