Preprint_HFRT_ A Unified Meta-Theory of the Emergence of Human (and AI) Cognition, Behaviour, and Society
Arising from work in general medical practice and the need for a more integrative understanding of cognition, behavior, and systemic dysfunction, this paper presents the Hadlich Field Resonance Theory (HFRT)—a unified framework for understanding cognition, behavior, and regulation across human and artificial systems. HFRT proposes that adaptive agents seek coherence within multidimensional fields through resonance dynamics, rather than linear causality. It integrates three sub-theories:– System R (field-logical cognition),– Stimulus-Resonance Theory (SRT) (behavior as energy-complexity optimization),– Onion Model of Functional Regulation (OMFR) (diagnostics via coherence breakdown). HFRT reframes neurodiversity as architectural variation and interprets burnout, cognitive collapse, and social dysfunction as resonance failures. It offers a new foundation for person-centered medicine, resilient AI systems, and coherence-based societal design—providing an alternative to classical reductionist models in both clinical and cognitive domains.
