The History of the Cochlear Implant in the State of Pará

This article aims to present the historical construction of the cochlear implant program in the State of Pará, in Northern Brazil. The study traces the timeline of the main steps in implementing this important policy of inclusion and accessibility in hearing health care. The methodology is descriptive and qualitative, based on the author's professional experience and documentary records from the period. The result is a record of advances, challenges, and the impact of the program on the local population.
