The impact of motivation on an employee's performance of the local banks in somalia
Abstract Employee motivation is a key factor in enhancing performance and productivity in any organization. This study examines the impact of motivation on employee performance in local banks in Somalia, focusing on factors such as promotions, rewards, and bonuses. The research explores how these motivational strategies influence employee engagement, job satisfaction, and overall performance. Using a mixed-methods approach, data was collected through surveys and interviews with employees and managers from various local banks. The findings indicate that financial and non-financial incentives play a crucial role in improving employee commitment and efficiency. However, challenges such as lack of clear career advancement opportunities, insufficient recognition programs, and limited financial resources hinder effective motivation strategies. The study highlights the importance of implementing structured motivational programs to enhance employee morale and retention. Recommendations include improving promotion criteria, offering performance-based incentives, and fostering a positive work environment to maximize employee potential. These insights provide valuable guidance for banking institutions, policymakers, and HR professionals aiming to improve employee performance through effective motivation strategies.
