Evolving Instructional Methods in Architecture Education: A Synthesis of Design Models and Learning Theories
Abstract: This study examines the confluence of instructional design models and educational learning theories within the context of architecture education. By integrating established frameworks such as ADDIE and Dick & Carey with diverse learningparadigms—including constructivism, behaviorism, humanism, experiential learning, and andragogy—the paper outlines apedagogical approach that is learner-centered, context-aware, and grounded in real-world application. The central inquiry guiding this research is: How can the integration of instructional design models and learning theories enhance pedagogical effectiveness in architecture education? In response, the paper proposes a conceptual framework that aligns curriculum development with evolving learner needs and the unique demands of architectural training.
