This empirical study examines the impact of AI on students in Indian higher education, shedding light on its integration into the academic environment. The participants in this study represented diverse age groups, academic disciplines, and genders, providing a comprehensive perspective. The research highlights the influence of AI on academic performance, student engagement, and overall educational experiences. A diverse demographic was surveyed, encompassing a wide range of ages, genders, and academic specialisations. Many respondents, particularly in higher education, demonstrated familiarity with AI tools. The increasing adoption of AI-driven learning platforms, chatbots, and personalised course recommendations indicates the technology's growing presence in academia.
