"Reverse Consulting for Sustainability: Lessons from Business Failures in Carbon Credit Strategies"

This research introduces an innovative approach to sustainability consulting by combining reverse consulting principles with carbon credit strategy optimization. The study investigates global patterns of business failures in carbon credit management, identifying three major pitfalls: regulatory misalignment, market mismanagement, and strategic blindness. These failures often result in financial losses and missed opportunities for businesses participating in carbon markets. To address these issues, the study proposes the Reverse Carbon Advisory Framework (RCAF), a model that converts lessons from failures into preventive strategies. The framework is designed to help businesses optimize carbon credit usage, align with evolving regulations, and integrate sustainability with profitability. Furthermore, the research highlights the role of AI and data analytics in enhancing RCAF by predicting market trends, detecting fraudulent credits, and enabling real-time decision-making. The findings aim to equip consultants, businesses, and policymakers with actionable insights to achieve both environmental and economic benefits.
