Schools and Digital Platform Use: Open Access Research Toolkit

This toolkit is one of the outputs of a research project that explored teachers, students and parents’ experiences of digital platform use in the context of compulsory education. The project was funded by a BA/Leverhulme Small Research Grants SRG 2023 Round [SRG23\230440] and was conducted by Anastasia Gouseti and Tricia Shaw. The aim of the toolkit is to bring research and practice closer together and to help other scholars and schools develop evidence-based understandings about the impact of school platformisation on teachers, students and parents by conducting further research in this area. This toolkit also aims to offer support with conducting methodologically sound and rigorous research that considers the various ethical implications that doing research with children and young people entails. Last, the research tools used for this project are made available for researchers and practitioners to adopt, adapt, and re-use, and step-by-step instructions for how to use these are provided.
