Stimulus-specific and adaptive value representations in the basolateral amygdala in male mice

General Introduction The data is published alongside the paper: Stimulus-specific and adaptive value representations in the basolateral amygdala in male mice. The data is split according to the four independent datasets that were recorded in the creation of the paper. The name of each dataset indicates which figure it belongs to. If a session or variable is not included and marked as nan, it means that an issue during the aquisition led to the unavailability of the data. In each of the mat files the structure is as follows: Data_HinzMahn_etal_2025_NC.(Animal_ID).(Session Name).(Session number).Variable Name Variable Description: Imaging_TS - Timestamps of the Imageaquisition (relevant for aligning the behavior to the neural data) Decov_Traces - Deconvolved Ca2+ of individual neurons (These are the traces used across the paper) df_oF - deltaf over f traces, provided for completeness SpikeRate - Inferred Spikerate, used for generating Fig1m runningSpeed - Recording of the saucer wheel the mouse is sitting on (cm/s) Pupil - pupil diameter (au) Camera_TS - Timestamps of the Camera Licking - Licking timestamps Stimulus_Identity - Name of the Rewards / Stimuli RunningSpeed_TS - Timestamps for the Running Speed Reward_TS - Timepoints of Reward or Stimulus deliveries Accessing the Data To access the data follow the examples on the respective Matlab page: https://ch.mathworks.com/help/matlab/ref/struct.html The dataset works with any version of Matlab, to load and visualize the neural traces of one session, first download the data open Matlab and execute following code: load('Data_AllfiguresexceptS7_Fig4e-h and S5a+c-j.mat')SessionActivity = Data_HinzMahn_etal_2025_NC.A_1072306.Control.Session_3.Decov_Traces;figure; hold on;for p = 1:size(SessionActivity , 1) plot(SessionActivity(p, :) + (p-1)*3, 'k')endset(gca, 'XTick', [], 'YTick', []); xlabel('Time'); ylabel('#Cells');ylim([-1 size(SessionActivity , 1)*3]) Questions If you have questions, please reach out to andreas.luthi((at))fmi.ch and julian.hinz((at))unige.ch.
