Feasibility of 3D software's in exploring zero waste pattern making techniques through pedagogical approach

AbstractPaper demonstrates the feasibility of exploring the zero waste pattern techniques with the help of 3D software. It highlightsthe feasibility and convenience of 3D software usage and how it reduces the efforts in rectifying the mistakes, convenience ofexploring any other techniques or design, reduces the textile waste during the prototyping. Experimental research has beenconducted on zero waste technique trained Final Year Fashion Design students – to explore zero waste garments with the helpof CLO 3D software later a survey has been conducted post the exercise to understand the convenience and feasibility of thesoftware through primary and secondary research. This paper will highlight the importance of how the 3D software tool alongwith zero waste pattern making techniques, training will help the fashion education to build the sustainable future. Paperdefines the innovative approach or pedagogy used in conducting the sustainable fashion course in Fashion education and evenin Fashion industry.
