DEVELOPING A MENTAL HEALTH AND STRESS MANAGEMENT PROGRAM FOR LIBRARIANS
Librarians today face increasing demands that impact their mental well-being, from administrative pressures to the rapid pace of digital transformation. This study developed a Mental Health and Stress Management Program tailored to address these challenges, incorporating stress management workshops, peer support groups, and access to professional counseling through an EAP. The program aims to strengthen librarians’ coping mechanisms and promote a healthier work environment. Findings support the program’s potential to reduce stress and build resilience among library staff, highlighting the importance of sustained support for employee well-being. Participants reported increased awareness of mental health resources and a greater sense of community within the workplace. These outcomes emphasize the value of proactive, targeted interventions in fostering both individual well-being and organizational resilience.
