A Study on ICT enabled Teaching Learning Process and its Impact on Learning Outcomes of Secondary School Students
The 21st century education landscape is undergoing a profound transformation, largely driven by thepervasive integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). No longer merely asupplementary tool, ICT has become an indispensable component of the teaching-learning process, particularly at the secondary school level. This article explores the multifaceted ways in which ICTenables and enhances teaching and learning, and critically examines its significant impact on thelearning outcomes of secondary school students, while also acknowledging the challenges that need tobe addressed for its optimal implementation. The ICT-enabled teaching-learning process redefinestraditional pedagogical approaches by offering dynamic, interactive, and personalized learningexperiences. At its core, it leverages a range of digital tools and resources, including computers, tablets, interactive whiteboards, projectors, the internet, educational software, and online platforms. Teacherscan utilize multimedia presentations, simulations, and virtual field trips to simplify complex concepts, making lessons more engaging and relatable. This shift moves beyond the conventional "chalk and talk"method, transforming classrooms into vibrant hubs of exploration and discovery. For instance, a historylesson can come alive with virtual tours of ancient civilizations, or a science class can explore intricatebiological processes through interactive simulations, fostering a deeper understanding and retentionof knowledge.
