UMUMIY TILSHUNOSLIKDA OMONIMLARNING OʻZIGA XOS XUSUSIYATLARI
Abstract: This study delves into the phenomenon of homonyms in the Uzbek language, defined as words sharing the same spelling and pronunciation but devoid of common semantic elements. Homonyms enrich the language by expanding its expressive capabilities and offering varied usage contexts despite identical orthography and phonetics. The emergence of homonyms is attributed to several factors: phonetic and orthographic concordance, the disintegration of polysemantic connections, historical phonetic changes, linguistic borrowings, and the divergence of meaning elements. These factors highlight the principle of linguistic economy, where fewer resources are used to express a broader range of meanings, thereby enhancing communication efficiency and creativity. The disintegration of polysemantic connections, phonetic shifts, borrowings from other languages, and the divergence of semantic elements contribute to the dynamic and adaptable nature of the language. Analyzing these factors provides deeper insights into the language's evolution and enrichment, showcasing the balance between theoretical understanding and practical application in language learning and teaching.
