Operando X-ray Computed Tomography of Lithium Plating and Stripping in interface modified Zero-Lithium-Excess All-Solid-State Batteries
This study employs operando X-ray computed tomography combined with image subtraction method to investigate mechanical failure mechanisms in all-solid-state batteries with lithium and zero-lithium-excess anodes. By comparing bare and silver-coated copper current collectors, the results reveal how interface properties influence lithium deposition morphology, reversibility, solid electrolyte mechanical stability, and short-circuit behavior under varying current densities. These findings emphasize the critical role of interface engineering for achieving stable zero-lithium-excess configurations.
