Comparative Study Of Solar Photovoltaic System Before And After Using Incremental Conductance Method Of MPPT Technique
Abstract: Photovoltaic (PV) systems are increasingly utilized as sustainable energy sources, but their efficiency is highly dependent on the operating point on the power-voltage curve. Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) algorithms are crucial in optimizing the energy harvested from PV arrays. This paper explores the Incremental Conductance technique for MPPT and compares the performance of PV systems operating with and without MPPT. The Incremental Conductance method improves tracking accuracy by considering both the instantaneous and incremental conductance of the PV array, enabling precise identification of the maximum power point under varying irradiance and temperature conditions. Simulation and experimental results demonstrate that PV systems integrated with incremental conductance MPPT achieve significantly higher energy conversion efficiency compared to those without MPPT, which operate at suboptimal points and suffer from power losses. The study confirms the effectiveness of incremental conductance MPPT in enhancing PV system performance, especially in dynamic environmental conditions.
