Handwriting Differences Across Gender and Analysing Age – Related Variations

Handwriting is a highly valuable motor function that is affected by intellectual, neurological and behavioural factors. This study examined at 5 major features slant, letter size, pen pressure, spacing and tremors with the goal to examine variations in handwriting features across age and genders. Three age groups (5-20), (21-40) and (41 and above) with equal distribution of gender constituted of 150 samples. The findings show statistically significant gender-based differences in pen pressure (p = 0.035) and letter size (p = 0.044); further there had been significant age-related variations in tremors (p = 0.015) and letter size (p < 0.001). These outcomes confirm the utilization of handwriting in forensic identification and beahvioural studies; by demonstrating that it can be adequate indication of age and gender.
