The Individual Educational Path as a Factor in Personality Formation in a Democratic Society

A comparative analysis of higher education systems in Ukraine, Europe, and the United States is conducted, focusing on individualization strategies. The authors argue that Ukraine has recently demonstrated a shift toward more flexible and student-centered education. The study explores three conceptual orientations in American higher education—behavioral, humanistic, and cognitive—and emphasizes key principles such as informed autonomy, flexibility, adaptability, and personal development. It concludes that the evolution of individualized education in Ukraine could foster democratic values and nurture competent professionals.
